    What is Light Eco® Plus?

      Light Eco® Plus is a cost effective and compact voltage controller that delivers significant energy savings by regulating the amount of electricity that reaches discharge lighting such as a fluorescent lamp circuit.

      After the lamps have been switched on and warmed up for a short time, they can operate effectively on a reduced power supply with minimal impact on lumen output while saving more than 25% power.
 

    How does Light Eco® Plus work?

      Light Eco® Plus is a microprocessor controlled unit, that functions automatically by allowing lamps to be activated at the standard utility voltage (240V in Australia) allowing some time to lapse and when conditions are appropriate it switches to economy mode and automatically reduces power to the lamps.

      Whilst in economy mode, Light Eco® Plus is constantly monitoring the power demand on the circuit and returns to full power mode if required. Full power mode is generally activated by one of the following reasons:

      1. Additional lamps (can be as low as 4x36W fluorescent lamps) have been switched on in the circuit that Light Eco® Plus is monitoring,

      2. There may be a critical drop in supply power;

      3. Operator intervention to perform lamp maintenance. Once the work has been completed economy mode can be resumed by pressing the bypass switch on the front of the unit.

    What new features does Light Eco® Plus deliver?

      The standard base models of Light Eco® Plus are shipped with the following new features:

    • Liquid Crystal Display panel - Mounted centrally on the front of each Light Eco® Plus unit, the panel displays the unit's current operating state and energy mode. There are five principal energy modes displayed by the LCD panel: Warm Up, Economy, Low Mains Voltage, Overload and Bypass Mode (see Installation & User Manual for more information on these modes)

    • Manual Bypass function - Light Eco® Plus is fitted with a manual bypass switch that enables an operator to switch the unit into Bypass Mode. During manual bypass mode Light Eco® Plus enables all lamps on the circuit to be operated at full power - this is especially important when maintenance and lamp changing operations occur. It is also used in High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp dimming applications to restore full light output. (see Installation & User Manual for more information on Manual Bypass function)

    • For an additional investment, the base model of Light Eco® Plus can be enhanced to include the following feature:

    • USB Port - The optional USB Port and accompanying software installed on a laptop or similar portable device, enables a qualified technician to connect to the unit and download stored information on energy consumption and savings.

    • A qualified technician can alter these parameters through the Light Eco® Plus USB port to suit a change in operations:

      • Current Sensing - sets the point at which Light Eco® Plus will switch to full power when a new set of lamps is switched on.

      • Voltage Sensing - adjusts from factory preset levels at which Light Eco® Plus will enter full power mode if supply voltage drops.

      • Bypass timer - sets the time until economy mode is automatically resumed after the manual bypass button is pressed.

      • Minimum Current - sets the minimum number of amps deemed to equal   "Lights off" state.

    • Please Note: Changing factory preset levels should only be done by a qualified technician who has been trained in how Light Eco® Plus functions. Changes made by untrained personnel may invalidate the 3 year Light Eco® Plus warranty and the       25% minimum savings guarantee.

    How much time does it take to install?

      Light Eco® Plus is easily retrofitted into existing fluorescent lamp circuits and can be installed by an electrician in less than 30 minutes. Interruption and lighting downtime is a matter of minutes.

      Light Eco® Plus is specifically designed for retrofitting into existing installations - eliminating the need for expensive modifications. Once Light Eco® Plus is installed there are no maintenance costs and no other ongoing costs - only ongoing savings!
 

    What is the Warranty & Performance Guarantee?

      There is a 3 year global Warranty for Light Eco® Plus - the warranty is backed by  Ilum-A-Lite Pty Ltd an established Australian company based in Sydney, that has been in the energy saving business for over 15 years and generated significant export markets around the world using innovative technology to achieve the savings we guarantee.

      We guarantee that Light Eco® Plus will save you a minimum of 25% of the energy currently used by your fluorescent lighting circuits and we guarantee it in writing.
 

    How do I use the ecoBright® Light Eco® Plus Savings Calculator?

      The ecoBright® Light Eco® Plus Savings Calculator is a simple and easy way of determining theoretical savings based on the parameters you enter via the yellow coloured cells. Most of the Calculator is locked except for the yellow cells and each yellow cell has a comment attached to it to enable you to determine the correct information for that specific cell.

      Some of the features of the ecoBright® Light Eco® Plus Savings Calculator is that it shows: Investment, Yearly estimated Savings, Power saved, Greenhouse Gas saved, Return on Investment and Extra savings through greater Air Conditioning Efficiency and longer Lamp Life.

      The Savings Calculator prints on to one page when you are done.
